Check engine light

Does disconnecting the battery (2003 Audi A4)
reset the computer,thus turning the check engine light off?

disconnecting the battery will extingush the check engine light however the cars computer will have to re-learn it's operating parameters. Driveability may be effected untill the car re-learns it's operating parameters. Another draw back is if the condition that caused the light to come in the first time still exists, the light will only come on again.
