I have a 1975 AMC Pacer. It quit running while driving
it. It will not turn over. Turn the key and nothing happens. I've replaced the starter solenoid, checked
the battery. Bench checked the starter. The only way
I could get the starter to engage after grounding the case
and a hot lead to the terminal was to push the Bendix
lever down manually. After putting the starter back in the
car, I jumped around the solenoid and the engine turned
over but didn't fire. The rest of the electrical components
seem to work. Help.
Thanks, I found out it was the neutral safety switch.
