I have a 98 Ranger with a factory am/fm only radio installed. I bought a factory am/fm cassette. The wiring harnesses are different sizes to start with. I'm working on the harness connection, which I think is BHO1770 to BHO5600. My question is this. Someone said that the original deck had a built in amplifier and the new one does not. Is this correct? The original radio is light and thin, seems wierd for having an amp built in. Also there is no place to put in an amp on the cassette deck and it had to get power enough to work before, right? Anyone have any knowlege on this subject?

Thanks!
