Check Engine Light

I have a 2002 Acura TLSport, automatic transmission. The check engine light came on and when I come from a stop and take off it appears that when it is going in 2nd gear the RPM goes up to 5 and the car rev's, jerks and takes off. What is going on.

Have the codes pulled from the check engine light. That light is a tool to help out you and/or the mechanic.
