Hi,

I have a 2007 vauxhall astra club 1.4 which I purchased last week. Opon purchase I noticed the oil can light was flashing quite frequently.

I purchased some Semi-Synthetic Oil 10w40 5Ltr and a guy at work said it was practically running on fumes and he filled it up for me. From the 5ltr tub there is now about 2 ltrs left so he put quite a lot in. The acceleration on the car is really slow since this and I often have to change down on hills that otherwise shouldnt be a problem. Also the oil can light although not so frequent still keeps appearing.

Is the lack of acceleration anything to do with the oil?

Has too much oil been put it?

Will draining the oil solve the issue, etc?

Many thanks in advance

Oil pressure: Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and engine bearing.
