I'm looking for detailed instruction on how to replace the starter. I've replaced starters on older cars and if it's not too complicated. I'll be replacing one on this car listed above.

The picture just shows how starter comes out. I need to know-how to get to the starter, as the manifold is hiding it. The pictures do not show that.

Yes it tells how to remove starter, but what do you have to take off to get to the starter? The manifold is blocking it at the top.

If you follow the steps you should be able to do this. This was taken form a 1.3L Honda as it does not show a 1.2L. Try from bottom if this is not sufficient I apologize as this is all we have.

I have a new starter and I am ready to install it. Is it easier to go from under the car or take the intake manifold off and just work up top?

See pictures for removal and reverse for install. Make sure to remove knock sensor for easier access and not to break it. Also remove negative battery cable prior to beginning.

Hi ALFRED,

No the manifold stays on, you only take off the manifold to gain access to the starter.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best, Ken
