Engine stalling while driving

The vehicle stalls without warning as I am coming to a stop (such as a stop light or stop sign). There is no warning in the warning lights and this is very dangerous. I have had this happen numerous times. I bought the car used and have had the car under a year. I bought it with almost 39, 000 miles on it and only have 60000 on there now. It has been taken in for service at the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and they found nothing wrong. I am having the spark plugs replaced and having a maintenance check as they suggested for a fee. And for a larger fee (nearly 400.00) I can get the full service they think may alleviate the problem"? I find this problem to be a serious safety issue and have seen where other owners are complaining of the same problem. This can cause a serious accident and when will something be done about this" there should be a re-call on this as it poses a serious safety issue.

Do you
have the same problem?

It sounds like the crankshaft angle sensor is going out which the computer wont detect.

Here is a guide that will show you what you are in for when changing the sensor out.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/crankshaft-angle-sensor-replacement

Below are some diagrams that will show you what its like on your car.

You may need to lift the car. Here is a guide on that.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/jack-up-and-lift-your-car-safely

All cars can be controlled safely when the engine stalls. To address the stalling problem, if it only occurs at very low speeds such as when approaching a stop sign, a common cause is the battery was recently disconnected. Fuel injection systems include a means of controlling and adjusting idle speed automatically but the Engine Computer has to know when to do that.

It does that when it sees "minimum throttle" but that has to be learned because it's different on every car. For Chrysler products that relearn takes place when you drive at highway speed with the engine warmed up, then coast for at least seven seconds without touching the pedals. After a year of owning the car that should have taken place already. Seven seconds is typical of coasting off an off-ramp on the highway.

Please let us know what happens so it will help others.

Cheers,

Rats. This is usually caused by disconnecting the battery.

Oh well, try this anyway. Drive at highway speed with the engine warmed up, then coast for at least seven seconds without touching the pedals. That will initiate the relearn of "minimum throttle" The Engine Computer needs to learn that to know when to be in control of idle speed.

Next is to use a scanner to view live data. Look at the "step" the automatic idle speed motor is being commanded to. The typical value for a good-running engine is step 32. If you find it's much higher, the computer is trying to raise idle speed without success. If you find it on step 0, it hasn't learned minimum throttle yet.

The starting normal and engine runing normal and I can drive car for any time period (1h, 2h.) Until I stop and shutoff engine every think ok, but if I comeback to start engine ( before engine heat down from normal 1/2 to 1/3 temperature gage, therfor I leave the car for 15-30 mins to let engine heat down under 1/3 gage, I mean after I leave car for short time and rutern to operate car ) engine start normal and engine operate (run ) normal but after 5-10 s engine shutdown.
There is no problem with starting process or engine opration but the problem engine shutdown after 5-10 s after good start and runing, thats if I dont let engine temp. Down 1/3 or less.
The problem happens when I press full accelerator to have high rpm 4000 befor 5 month and know I use car but I let engine heat down befor second starting,
thanks

Fuel shut off may have triggered, or something has been knocked loose in the engine bay, you will need a mechanic to check this one over I feel.

Is the trans fluid full? Also, have the check engine light come on? Finally, have you checked the linkage to the trans to make sure it is attached and tight?
