I have zero power going to my rear lift gate or rear wipers. The window still opens when I use the remote but nothing else on the rear gate works. I have changes fuses and I have no idea whta else to look at. Any idea what this could be.

If the power liftgate motor in your 2007 Chevy Tahoe is making noise but not functioning properly, there could be a few potential causes for this issue:

Obstruction or binding: Check for any obstructions or debris that might be hindering the movement of the liftgate. Inspect the track and gears to ensure they are free from any debris or objects that could cause the liftgate to jam. Clean out any obstructions and lubricate the moving parts if necessary.

Faulty motor or gears: The liftgate motor or the gears that drive the liftgate may be worn out or damaged. Over time, the motor or gears can wear down or develop issues that prevent smooth operation. If the motor is struggling to move the liftgate or if the gears are slipping or jamming, they may need to be repaired or replaced.

Wiring or electrical issues: Check the wiring connections for the liftgate motor to ensure they are secure and free from any damage or corrosion. Faulty wiring connections or electrical issues can disrupt the power supply to the motor and cause erratic behavior. Repair or replace any damaged wiring or electrical components as needed.

Control module or switch malfunction: The control module or the switch that operates the liftgate may be malfunctioning. The control module sends signals to the motor to control its movement, and if it is not functioning correctly, it can cause issues with the liftgate operation. Similarly, a faulty switch may not send the proper signals to the motor. Diagnostic testing can help determine if the control module or switch is the source of the problem.

Check out the images (Below). Please let us know what happens.

A similar problem happened to me, a piece of debris was jamming one of the two latches that hold the rear end gate closed. If so inclined remove the plastic hatch panel from the inside. Remove the screw that holds the strap that can be used to pull down on the door from the open position. From there you need to pry up the top portion of the plastic trim that surrounds the window. You can then pry on the bottom panel that covers the latch workings. From here you can manipulate the connection cables that connect the outside handle to each individual latch to see which one if either will not open. Usually from this point you can actuate them both manually to open the end gate so you dont have to diagnose the problem while sitting in the cargo area. The design is fairly simple an you should be able to tell why the latches are not releasing when actuating the handle.

The rear lift gate will no longer stay open. When let go, it slams shut. What needs to be fixed and is it something that can be done by self.

You need to replace the lift gate struts. They are easy to change. They should come with instructions on how to change them.

TMOTION, no I rigged it (I glued a pc of plastic on the inside of the button) so that when I push the rear window button from the outside it made contact with the release to pop the window. Then I reach in and pull up on the lever to release door. The alarm still functions so if I don't disarm, it sounds the alarm once you open it. If the tahoe was here now I'd take a picture to show you.

Not the best fix, but we rarely use the back so it works for now.

I did find a used part for $75 at a recycling auto parts place, but they were all different from the one I had in my SUV. Later I found out that I could of used that one as well.

In fact you can use just about any rear gm suv between 2000-2006 p/n 15808595. The cheapest new one was $169.57 + s/h, dealership wanted $286.04 this was 6 months.

Like I said my fix has worked for now. Good luck hope this helps.

I am in need of the same part. I took the actuator apart and found the electric motor is bad. On the motor was a number. FC-280SC-xxxxx

I could not read the last digits after the SC-

Can any one read the numbers on the small motor inside the actuator?

I think we could get a replacement motor if we could spec the rest of the motor numbers.

Thanks.
