My wife's Buick Rainier has an onboard computer that tells me when it is time to change the oil. It took almost ten months for the computer to get to zero percent. (I changed at 10%.) I contacted Buick long before this since I had changed oil every three months all my life and questioned the period of time that it looked like this was going to take. They confirmed that the computer was acurate based upon the engine and new technology for today's cars. I would check the oil periodically and it was clean enough after long periods. I bought a second Rainier for myself and I will only put about 2,500 miles a year on it. At that rate, it would take four years for the computer to tell me it is time for an oil change unless time is computerized into the factors for changing. What is your opinion?
have the same problem?
