I own a 2006 Toyota Corolla. The front passenger window doesn't work all the time. It will sometimes but not others. I need it to work for inspection. The mechanic said it would be almost 300.00 to install a new motor for the window. Is this a common problem with the Corolla? Is there a cheaper fix than this?

Trouble shoot the power AND ground leads from the door harness to the door control pannel. You will have to remove the door pannel from the door frame to do this. A test light, some jumper leads are all you will need. Try looking for a broken wire in the door hinge area. You can also test the window motor by hooking up direct, the instructions are on this websight under do it yourself.
