Thinking of buying a MB R500 with low mileage, 25,000-40,000 miles. Did a google and an Edmunds repair problems and owners comments survey on the 2006-2007 R500. Seems there are problems with the air suspension system, the rear taillight harness frying, problems with shifting and the transmission. Now some owners say NO problems and NO repairs. Others said they bought the vehicle brand new and it was in the shop for all kinds of repair problems for 8 months in a row! My question is: are these cars all junks with the chance of them even at low mileage becoming a repair nightmare/money pit? I can now afford to buy one used but I can not afford to dump thousands of dollars into it each month or every several months just to have the thing run right! Please advise. Thank you very much!
