Whenever I stop at gas station and add gas to the car it dies when I start it. After it is started it does not die out. Could that be the vapor canistor purge valve/vapor canister or what?

If there is a problem in the EVAP system, the check engine light should be on. Are you over filling the tank?

No fuel has not been over filled. Dealership ran a computer and said it was the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I bought one and put it on the check engine light went off but still dies when I add gas to the tank.
