You need to check sensor circuits before you replace anything. For the cam sensor, that is ref voltage--ground and signal. The cam sensor shares ground with a bunch of different sensors. If a problem on that ground circuit, it could effect everything on that circuit. What were the actual trouble code numbers?
If this is an automatic with OD, why do you want to get over 2500 rpms?
