Me and my father have been trying to replace my high pressure power steering line in my 2006 Chevy impala and we found the nut but we can't seem to get to it from the bottom of top of the car, is there any way possible we can get to the nut easily and change the line

Hello,

You will need to jack the car up first

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/jack-up-and-lift-your-car-safely

And you will need line wrenches to break the lines looses without rounding them.

Here is a video of a power steering line being done.

Here are the diagrams (below)

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken

My power steering return line is split and I need to know the best way to remove it. I was told it had to come out the wheel well. I dont like that sloution. This is the line that wraps around the engine. It feeds the rack and pinion I believe and goes around the front of the motor.

Steering problem
2009 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 39000 miles

trying to flush the power steering fluid, and the documentation says to remove the power steering fluid return hose - where is it? Help greatly appreciated. I have sucked what fluid I could out already, but it was less than 12 oz. I just obtained the car from a guy who drove it 300 miles a day, so am changing all the fluids and filters.
