Oil pan removal

You will have to remove any motor/trans mounts in the way and raise engine a few inches to get the pan off. Here are the instructions in the diagrams below to show you how to replace the oil pan. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Yes, the engine does NOT need to be removed, here's how:
Removal Procedure 1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Fig. 171: View Of Oil Pan Drain Bolt Courtesy of GENERAL MOTORS CORP. 2. Drain the engine oil. 3. Remove the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement . 4. Remove the lower AC compressor bolt. Remove the oil pan. Installation Procedure Fig. 174: Locating Oil Pan Adhesive Courtesy of GENERAL MOTORS CORP. 1. Make sure that the oil pan and mounting surface on the lower crankcase are free of all oil and debris. 2. Apply a 3.5 mm bead of RTV around the perimeter of the oil pan and the oil suction port opening. Refer to Sealers, Adhesives, and Lubricants for the correct part number. Install the oil pan bolts. Tighten: Tighten the oil pan bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). 5. Install the AC compressor bolts. Refer to Compressor Replacement (RPO LSJ) or Compressor Replacement (RPOs L61, LE5) . NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . 6. Install the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement . 7. Lower the vehicle. 8. Fill the engine oil to the proper level.

No rest or shut downs. If you hit the pan and lost oil, you may have seized the motor which will require replacement

THere really isn't anything you can do other than apply enough pressure to loosten it. My concern is if the pan is aluminum, the threads may be stripped.
