I have an 06 Acura RL with 103,000 miles. Only issue was one winter morning the battery was dead following the car sitting for 48 hours. Battery pack started the car right up. The other day, very cold out, emissions light came on blinking. Car would not accelerate well and was vibrating at highway speeds. Mechanic found melted ignition coil on cylinder 5. Next to the plug (which the mechanic was unable to remove) was a small hole that was apparently leaking exhaust causing the ignition coil to melt. Do I change this cylinder head and hope the same problem doesn't persist in another cylinder? Big money and I owe about what the car is worth right now. Multiple mechanics have suggested I trade it in now to avoid additional losses. Im at a loss as to how this was caused (along with the mechanics). Thank you in advance.
have the same problem?
