I have a 2005 pontiac grand prix 3.8l. With 205k miles ont. If the ignition control module is bad can it cause it to throw emission fault codes? It brings up code. P0420 – Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
it also has a ignition module code that comes and goes

If there's problem with the ICM I don't think it will start and also won't throw an emission code/s

Start checking the oxygen sensor/s and the catalytic converter

Ya but dies after on less you give it some gas and then runs ok. Its been getting worse. I was told the icm would cause that to happen
