I have a 2005 mitsubishi express van that has done 180k. Recently developed a vibration in rear half of car. This vibration only is at its worse between 90-110kms and only begins shaking when the car is put in fifth gear. Runs perfectly in all other gears and you can do high speed in 4th gear with no vibration. Also disappears in 5th gear when not accelerating. Took to mechanic who checked tyres, tail shaft and diff and says all ok. He now says it is my gearbox causing it as he had a chat to local gearbox guy. Is he likely to be right? As it is a huge expense if it is wrong advice. Help
have the same problem?
