CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

Check engine light. Only goes on in cold weather.
Had mechanic check, says code for fuel sensor. May be up to $1,000. To
replace. Parts & labor. Fuel gauge seems accurate and always pay attention
to miles driven and gallons purchased. Never out.
Is this worth investing this money or is it a non issue?
