I'm working on the charging system. Original Problem was low alternator output, so battery died. "Check Charging System" indicator never came on for that problem. Replaced Alternator and recharged battery. Ran Full load test on battery. Test OK. Check of charging voltage comes out at 14.20 VDC. I consider this OK as well. If throttle is raised a bit, then released the voltage drops to about 13.2 for a second or two. All this time, even when output is "OK" I still have a "Check Charging System" indication, where a bad alternator (Probably just a bad diode or two.) Does NOT give this indication. Any ideas? I have done a basic connection check, but wanted to avoid digging into the main harness, if possible. Oh yeah, ECM checked OK with Original Alternator.
