Like I have stated why? Can the throttle system like the motor APS the ETS motor and the ETS control unit be bad and not giving the signal to the throttle to allow the car to start? Cpttrevor

I know it goes into limp mode when a failure is detected so it limits throttle opening greatly. If its like a gm car if it detects that failure next key cycle it wont start. The kia repair info I have isnt ver very detailed. Let me see if there is a another moderator on here that knows these kias well.

I justed talked to the kia expert and he said the same thing I told you if the injectors are working and there is good fuel pressure makes no sense why it will start on a prime but not start otherwise. So please check what I just asked you to check rught before your last reply of waiting for me to talk to the expert.

The ignition switch should be in the on position and were not using a multi meter were you using a scan tool to read the voltage.

You need use a scan tool thats what the trouble tree I gave you has you use. Because if its not reading correctly at the computer how would you even know it?Also I just dont know how if the injectors are working and we have the correct fuel pressure how it can start and run on a prime? That makes no sense really to me.

I agree we have injectors firing gas spark and the throttle plate is opening when you attempt to start so it is getting a signal but still would only start if I squirt starter fluid into throttle body and runs very good and smooth until burns off. This only happen after I got gas and I am draining tank and putting fresh gas in possibly I have water or too much alcohol or ethanol in the gas. I am doing this today before anything else because this does not make sense I have been working on cars for years and gas spark air and correct computer signal car should start I would let you know Cpttrevor
