I have just brought my first jaguar, an X Type 2.0D SE 89.000 on the clock full service history a really nice example. I have noticed that when I pull away in first gear there is an audible
clunking/knocking from the clutch as it reaches the biting point. This does not appear to happen if I use a little more rev, s when reaching the biting point to pull away and only happens in first gear when pulling away from a standing start, once rolling even if I dip the clutch and raise it again the noise is not present and when on the move does not affect the performance.
