This is a technical service bulletin from Ford, I think it covers your problem for hard start and rough idle, For the battery, are the interior lights staying on? If so try this fix:Try this cure, buy a can of brakekleen and a can of spray white lithium grease, spray the latch area, thats the claw in the door where it closes, spray liberally with brakleen, open and close the door 5-6 times, repeat, then spray with the white lube, open and close the door 5-6 times. Reapeat on all doors.

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P0300 (MISFIRE) - 3.0L 2-VALVE ENGINE (GAS AND
Some 2004 Taurus/Sable vehicles equipped with 3.0L 2-Valve engine (gas and FFV) may exhibit the
? Hard start or no start with engine cold.
? P0300 misfire DTC.
? Slight engine idle surging in 15 second intervals with transmission oil temperatures below 100
F (38 C), shift lever in park, and foot off brake.
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using WDS release B31.9
or higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www. Motorcraft. Com.

Coverage And Emissions Warranty Coverage.
IF THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED IN FOR A NO START CONDITION,
CHECK FOR EVIDENCE OF FUEL IN THE OIL AND CHANGE THE OIL
AND FILTER IF NECESSARY. THE VEHICLE MAY ALSO EXHIBIT DTC'S
P2196/P2198 DUE TO ENGINE FLOODING, RESULTING FROM THE
CRANK NO START/HARD START CONDITION. DO NOT REPLACE
HEGO(S), MAF OR PCM FOR THESE CODES OR CONDITIONS UNLESS
DIAGNOSIS CLEARLY INDICATES COMPONENT NEEDS
IF DTC P0300 STILL EXISTS AFTER PCM REPROGRAMMING,
PERFORM NORMAL DIAGNOSTICS AND ONLY REPLACE
COMPONENTS IF TESTS INDICATE REPLACEMENT IS APPROPRIATE.
