Bought this car about 6 months ago and everything was running fine. Then the ignition lock cylinder went out. Had it replaced now check engine light is on along with the wrench. Car shifts funny. Took it in to AAMCO to have it checked out and they pulled a lot of codes. P0604 P0716 P0717 P0742 P0751 P0752 P0756 P0757 U2105 P1815 P1816 P1817 P1818 P1834 P1842 P1847 P1860 P1887 P1795.

Just to add to this one its a 3.0L if its a 2003 L300. Also thats a lot of codes did you check transmission wiring harness for animals chewing it acid from the battery damaging it?Also there is a couple of ground wires on the drivers side of engine below where there the intake tubes are. There not under the intake there in plain view some people leave them loose or dont hook them back up causing problems.

The p0604 says to replace the transmission control module the diagnoses says clear the code if it comes back replace the computer. The P1795 is a commucation code as well as the U2105 that code there screams a computer went bad.I have seen bad ecms body control modules etc set that code. With all the codes and the three codes that docfixit mentioned I would replace the transmission computer and clear the codes and see which ones if any come back. With the code P0604 that means you have a bad transmission computer so there is nothing lost with replacing it.I wolud also inspect the wiring like I mentioned before. But that wont set the code P0604.

Your welcome docfixit anytime. Also its setting a code for a bad tcm and there is mostly transmission codes so I would start by replacing the tcm and inspecting the harness.

Ok checked the wiring harness and ground wires and all are connected tightly and no chew marks. About how much does a tcm cost and where is it located at? Will it have to be reprogramed or is it plug and play.

The tcm is located under the cowl at the base of the windshield on the passenger side. Unless you find one already programed it will have to be programed. For a price you will have to shop around. You can try www. Rockauto. Com or www. Parts. Com amazon oriellys autozone etc.

Not sure which years are interchangable with which years on those powertrain harnesses I always had the parts department let me know those answers at the dealer I worked at. Lets change the tcm clear the codes and see what cides come back. Your not really saving anytime by trying to repair or replace the powertrain harness while changing the tcm. Let me know what you find.
