After driving for a significant distance, say 20 to 150 km, and the engine is switched off, after a few minutes the car will not start due to no power to the starter motor. This is suspected because. When the keyu is turned to the off position, all the ignition lights illuminate, but of course the key is not in the correct position to activate the starter motor. Not even a connection to a live engine via jumper cables get the appropriate response. Then, surprisingly enough, after a period of time, say anything between 15 mins to 1 hour later, all returns to normal and the engine fires normally when the key is turned to activate the starter motor.
Could this be a problem related to the ignition switch or possibly the transponder key, since the motor is not fitted with a remote controlled immobiliser.
