It sounds like you have a dead battery but if the headlight are bright when you crank it over I would think the starter is out. To be sure here is a guide to help you test to confirm the issue:

Please run down this guide and report back.

Cheers

Difficulty starting. After driving vehicle, turn off for a short time, try to restart. Turns over but does not start. Some times my wife turns key over and it will start. Saturday night it happened to me. Turned over but would not start. Turned key over, same. Battery drained. Came back about four hours later and it started right away. I am stumped for an answer. Thank's for your help.

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure first. If no codes and fuel pump is okay then check crank/cam sensors for high resistance.

My van starts fine when cold but after running for a while it does not start easily. Engine turns over well so I do not think its battery related. It sounds like not all cylinders are firing because it stumbles up to idle rpm and rolls over and shuts off. I have to wait about fifteen to thirty minutes before I can start the engine. I have replaced fuel filter. Still same problem. Van has 84,000 miles with original plugs and wires. Someone suggested the fuel pump could be the issue or dirty fuel lines. Any ideas?

Hi.

First, if the wires and plugs are original, I would perform a tune up. Also, the fuel pump could be an issue. What I recommend is to perform a fuel pump pressure test on it. Here is a "How To" video that will explain how to do it and what to look for.

Many parts stores will rent or lend a gauge to you or you can purchase one at the test equipment store site on this page.

Finally, has the check engine light ever come on and does the temperature gauge work properly in the car?
