I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant that will not start after driving all day. There was this rhythmic tapping coming from the left side under the hood which I notices while driving that day before it would not start. I hooked up a ODBII reader and it gave code P0340. So I looked up that code and it states:
A code P0340 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
the camshaft position sensor may have failed
the PCM may have failed
there exists an open circuit
the crankshaft position sensor may have failed
I have a few people (non mechanics) look at this and some of the comments were; it may be the timing belt, fuel pump, fuel filter, starter. Though, after the code from the ODBII I'm not sure. Is there anything that you may offer to help with my troubleshooting?
have the same problem?
