My wife car recently stopped running it turns over but doesn't start. It makes a squeaking noise on the lower drivers side of the engine.I have desribed the problem to a mechanic and he said it sounds like the timing belt has broken.I wanted to know if the timing chain on 2003 ford taurus was located on lower drivers side and how to remove and replace it

Timing chain is on passenger side. Is it a 2 valve or 4 valve? It makes a huge difference
