I turn the key, and nothing happens. It turns freely, but cannot get accessory or ignition. Steering wheel is not locked, turns without any resistance. Is the ignition the problem, or is it the tranny linkage>

Could be a blown fusible link, the starter, starter relay, transmission position switch and ignition switch assuming the battery condition and connections are good.

Battery is new. Connections OK. When I turn the key, there is no resistance in either direction. When I went to start it this AM, I had to turn the key twice and further in rotation. At this point, no radio, etc, steering not locked, no brake depression.
