My power seat and adjustable pedals are not working. I think it might have been due to an 8 gauge wire grounding out on the drivers door that ran an amplifier. I checked the fuses and the fuses are fine. I also have the memory position that is not working since it controls both the pedals and seat. Do you think my problem resides in the memory switch. I dont think its the motor or the seat switch since the pedals and seat went out at the same time. Please help me know where to go with my problem now.

The drivers seat module in the drivers seat controls all this. I would first check fuse 1 30amp if this is good then make sure the module has power at the green wire. Also check the ground to the module it is located in the left rear of the car. Here are the fuse locations in the diagrams below with a guide to help you check them.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

I checked the green wire and it had power. I checked the ground in the rear and it was grounded tight and secure. The module under the seat controls both the pedals and seat so does that mean I have to replace the entire module under the seat now? It also has a memory button on the door for seat positions. Could this make it so that both would not opperate?

If you have power to the module it is most likely the module under the seat sorry.

Check all the fuses under the hood and inside. It's fairly common for them to blow from the surge when reconnecting the battery.

Youll have to reprogram them to remote 1 or 2 to get the seat and pedals to set. Set them and reprogram using remote 1 or 2 drivers buttons

Have replaced this fuse several times. There is no check engine light on can not seem to find a short in the wires anywhere. Just confused why it would keep blowing the fuse. It says the fuse is for the adjustable seat and adjustable brake pedal which mine dos not have. My brake light switch acts up some times could this be the problem

Proberbly one of the motors in the seat is faulty or the switch is earthing, this will have to be checked by someone competent with auto electrical systems.

My son thought it would be funny to move the seat all the way up on the driver's side. I have tried to move the seat back but it will not move, it is motorized. It will go up and down but not front to back. I have checked the track to see if anything is blocking it and it is clear. My question is how do you manually release that so I can drive my car? Is there a release lever somewhere or am I out of luck?

Arent children joys.

No, there is no manual release.

Can you hear anything from the motor when you move the switch forward or back?

Ok. Best case is while holding the switch to go forward and pushing on the seat, the gears will mesh with eachother and start working again.

If not, then you're going to have to take things apart to visually inspect what's going on.

PS, you wanna take a guess at how many times i've found a penny in the cigarette lighter when the radio doesn't keep the time or pre-set stations?

Hey Skylarpclifton,

On those headrests there will be a detent just pull up or push down the headrest should move with a little force. Also check where the support rods go into the seat there should be a retainer you push in to move the headrest

Please let us know what you find so it will help others.

Best, Ken

the electrical adjustment for the drivers seat stopped working. Could this be a simple matter of a fuse? Is there a way to adjust it manually? There is not a bar or lever for manual adjustment that I can find.

Could be, but also could be the motor itself, you need to test the wires to the motor for power when you activate the switch. No there is no manual adjustment. Have the truck scanned for body "B" codes, this will pinpoint the problem.
