FUEL PUMP

Car run out of gas pump gas then tried to start open gas lid and listened for fuel pump to kick in but a no go there right beside road could not hear anything changed fuel pump relay switch even tried a little starter fluid would start but not stay started

The first thing I would check is all the fuse's. Then I would check and see if I was getting power and ground to the fuel pump while cranking the engine.

Do you have away to check pressure? Suspect pump failed when run low pick up debris and run hot

And they can seize up when the cold gas meet's the hot pump.
