Recently had a reconditioned starter fitted and have now have further problems. When trying to start the car it makes a whirring sound on occasion or other times starts right up, a friend of mine suggested a flywheel problem, could this be the case or was the starter refitted incorrectly?

Maybe a flywheel problem if that was happening with other starter most likely faulty bendix in reman
