No starter operation?

It will always start in the morning but after it has ran I turn it off and it won't start back for like fifteen minutes.

Yep the guide helped me I got a new starter from amazon fix the problem it took me about 2 hours to install.

I am having starting issues with my 2002 Gr. Cherokee Overland. When it gets hot it will not start. However, if I put it in neutral and then shift it back up into park with the key in the on position; most of the time it will restart. If I let the car sit for 10 to 30 minutes it will also start again.
It seems like there is an issue with some sensor. Whatever sensor that keeps the car from starting when it is not in park. I think this sensor is what is causing my trouble. What do you think?

When it does not start, do you hear the starter making any noises or is it completely silent?

I get all the electrical coming up, no sound of other than the instruments coming on. But if I put it into neutral with the key turn to the on position, then place it back in park most of the time it will start or if I leave it sitting for a bit it will restart. This happens after I have been driving it for a while.

When this problem occurs again, turn the key into the start position (and hold it there) and move the shifter back and fourth through all the transmission ranges. Does the starter engage at all? Any noises (if so, can you describe them)?

Starting problems
I have a 2002 JGC 250000 miles 4.7 engine auto trans
Batt tests good / alternator test good / batt terminals have been cleaned and tightened
Every now and then when you try to start you turn the key and get one click. Lights and assy all work fine, but the car will not start are jump off. However I do have an industrial batt charger with a start setting on it, when jumped from that start setting it turn over and start every time so far. After it has been jumped off in this manner it will start fine for awhile ( 2week are more so far) then click and here we ago again. Thing about replacing starter.
Any suggestions?

Well next time it does the click, try tapping the starter with a hammer, if it starts, replace it. Make sure all contacts down there are clean and tight, any sign of corrosion(greenish goo) clean up with baking soda and water mixture. And a wire brush, or emory cloth. 1 ohm of resistance can cause a no start.

Next time it just clicks have someone try and crank it and start giving the starter a few good hits with a hammer. Does this cause it to crank. If so the starter is wearing out. Hitting with a hammer causes the armature to lign up causing it to start or jump over a bad commutator allowign it to start. Dont hit it so hard as to damage the magnetic casing in the starter or youll need a starter for sure. To me it sounds like a failing starter tho

My Jeep has just started to not start/respond to turning the key. I have an allmost new battery. It doesn't crank over but after I turn it off and then re-try the ignition it usually starts. I'm wondering if my starter or solinoid is starting to go bad. If so, How much will that cost and is it something that you should take to the Jeep dealer?

If the starter doesn't respond the first time but does the second, it could be a bad starter solenoid, starter relay, or the ignition switch may be going bad. Have a helper turn the key to start position when you know it will happen while you check for voltage to the smaller wire on the starter. There should be 12+ volts. If there is and it still doesn't crank, the starter / solenoid is most likely the problem. IF there is no power, then move back to the relay and ignition switch.

Will not start, it turns over but will never catch. The key light stays on solid sometimes and sometimes not, we have reset the immobilizer, cleaned the PCM, tried darn near everything every site has said to try and it still will not! Please help!

Is your Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) or "check engine" lamp illuminated? Also in the diagrams down below I have included a description of how your vehicle's Sentry Key Immobilizer System (SKIS) works for your reference. Please get back to us with the Direct Trouble Code (DTC) if your MIL is illuminated and we can go from there.
