2002 Ford Focus Loud Knocking Rattling Noise Coming Engine Under Plastic Cover

I have a loud knocking/rattling noise coming from the engine. Its coming from under a plastic cover on the left of the engine, any ideas please?

Probably something coming apart in the timing belt area like a tensioner, idler or water pump. Don't drive it until it is checked as a jumped timing belt can do severe internal damage in a split second.
