My husband inserted a wrong key into my 2002 Dodge Neon SE and started the engine (yes the key fit). When I went to start it Nothing Happened. No lights, turnover, sound. He disconnected the battery then put the right key in and left it in the "on" position as instructed by a auto shop. Nothing has worked. What is wrong with the car? Can we try something else? If not, does this sound like an expensive 'fix' at the dealership?
Thank you.

When you try to start it, does anything happen, dash lights, does anything electrical work?

I have to say I honestly don't know what a wrong key would have done to cause all electrical components to stop working. Have you checked to make sure the battery is still producing 12+ volts? Have you checked the main fuses under the hood in the power distribution box?
