Just replaced starter thought it was the problem. Not the problem it cranks when it wants. It's a chrysler sebring 2.7L. Is it some kind of sensor?

Check battery terminals to make sure they are clean and tight and not corroded. Check starter relay. Check for power to the smaller wire on starter while helper turns key to start position and starter isn't working.
