2002 Suburban 1500 5.3L. During cold start, rpm's go to about 1500 and hold for a couple of seconds, then drop to about 1000, then to about 700. Vehicle will warm up, but rpms fluctuate during this time, and fluctuation in rpms will continue but dissipate as normal op temp neared. Performance at normal temps is fine, and problems during warmer temp starts not experienced.

Check the idle air control valve. Check coolant temp switch.
