My 2002 cadillac deville was in park on a hill with the park brake engaged when I cranked it up put it in reverse the brake released I back out then when I moved the shifter to drive it did not move I put it back in park turned the car off restarted it now it will not not move

Does the shifter feel as though it is moving anything, does it have detents? You can look under the hood down under the brake master cylinder, and see if the transmission shift lever is moving with the shifter. If it is moving, then there is possibly an internal transmission problem. Make sure the fluid is full, you should know if the fluid was lost.
