2001 PONTIAC GRAND AM SWAPPING

The motor that is In my 2001 Grand am I believe is a 2.4 liter twin cam, but it doesn't run. So I bought a 2.4 liter should that just fit right in no problems and it will be running again? Or will it be different.

What year and model car did the engine come out of?

It came out of a 1998 grand am. Not sure exactly the model I just know it is a 2.4 liter

I checked a salvage yards interchange guide and it shows that a 2.4L engine from GM vehicles from the followings years will work: 2000 thru 2002.

I checked rock auto dot com parts website and for year fitment it shows 1999-2001 there part fitment is pretty accurate.

According to the interchange guide I read (online) it will not work. To be on the safe side check with a salvage yard in your area as well.
