1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove under cover. Remove all accessory drive belts. Rotate crankshaft clockwise so that No. 1 cylinder is at TDC of compression stroke. Holding crankshaft stationary, remove crankshaft pulley.

2. Place jack under engine. Support engine so there is no weight on engine mount bracket (timing belt end of engine). On vehicles equipped with A/C, move A/C relay box and drier assembly (hoses attached) out of way to remove engine mount bracket. On all vehicles, remove engine mount bracket-to-engine bolt and nut. Remove engine mount bracket-to-body through-bolt. Remove engine mount bracket.

3. Remove water pump pulley. Remove power steering pump and bracket with hoses attached, and secure out of way. Remove oil dipstick tube. Remove timing belt upper and lower covers. See Fig. 5.

4. Rotate crankshaft clockwise to align timing mark on camshaft sprocket with mark on cylinder head.

5. Remove Crankshaft Position Sensor.

My car has a code for a crankshaft position sensor. Can you send some diagrams that show where this part is located on my car. I have the part, but I can't find it- or how to replace it

Thank you for the reply. Is there any way you coukd describe the location-
What happened was my father replaced water pump then this code happened and car won't start.
Now we are both having a hard time finding it. Do other parts need to come out in order to see the Crank shaft sensor? Is there other more identifable parts surrounding it?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm broke and wish is could have it repaired.
But professional advice is a good start

Hello, I am Danny.

I can provide a wiring diagram for you but I have a question first. Is your engine size a 1.5 or 1.8 liter and also is this a manual or automatic transmission? Let us know this information and we will be happy to help. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hello again.

Here is the diagram for your car. I have attached the picture as well as a tutorial how to check wiring. The colored wires number 12 and 23 connect to the PCM (Power-train Control Module). Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarProS.
