I have 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder 2.4 liter engine with 150K miles. Front end makes a humming noise while driving in a straight line. The faster you go, the pitch gets higher. I can actually control speed by sound. Also, when you turn left, the noise gets louder. When you turn right, the noise goes away. Would it be a wheel bearing tyo cause this? Lweft or right? Sounds like sound is coming from passenger side. Not too familiar with front wheel drive vehicles but can fix almost anything if I know what it is.

Your right front wheel bearing is bad. Have that checked and let me know what you find.
