My wife has a 2001 Grand Cherokee V8 4x4 which at times will no start or try to start. The starter doesn't engage. The battery has power and is new. Changed ignition switch which did not help. Gauges, lights, etc. Work. Shifting to neutral does not help. Moving (rolling) the car several feet does not help. It may start on the 2nd try or the 222nd try. It may do this serveral times in a week and not again for serveral weeks. It always starts when at a shop for diagnosis. At the dealer, they noticed that the PCM always shows zero starts but no other issues.

Maybe a neutral safety switch

Try this stuff (What is possible, for your rig), before you spend any money,

For some reason, Links have not been working today (site is still under construction)....You may have to "Copy and Paste" it to a new tab.
