Lookin for the filter for the transmission

Keeps slipping out of gear been told I need a new filter looked in books and can't locate where it goes plz help

If you're talking about the transmission filter, that is inside of the transmission and the transmission would need to be torn apart in order to replace it. These filters typically aren't considered maintenance items due to this fact. If you do still choose to replace it, you might as well purchase an overhaul kit and rebuild the tranny.

So I went to auto zone and got a filter it said automatic transmission filter so it goes in tha transmission it's a small round thing

AutoZone will sell you one because they are replaceable but like I said, it's located inside of the transmission. The transmission is going to have to be removed from the vehicle and taken apart.

1999 honda civic lx transmission filter located can you change it without pulling transmission out

Where Is The Transmission Filter Located In a automatic 2001 Honda Civic EX? Do I have to replace it?

You do not need to replace the filter it is more like a screen on some cars will others have an external filter here is a video of the job being done.

The funny thing is though I see in the part explosion that there is a pan on the CVT units. Here is guide to help get the transmission serviced.
