Today I noticed that when my clutch is depressed and the truck is in gear it makes a horrible ratteling noise. My truck is a 6 cylinder ford ranger 2001. What could tis be? Thanx

If the noise is only when you press in the clutch you may have a failed thrust bearing, often this will also be felt in the clutch pedal as a vibration.

Not all thrusts will give a feel in the clutch, if the noise is constant with clutch operation, the box will have to come out regardless if it is a faulty thrust or in the box, my money is on the thrust bearing.
