I am providing you with the positions of the Ignition Transformer Capacitors as it is a Coil on Plug engine Ignition.
They are numbered #1 and #2. The primary is #1 as it is on the right side, passenger side, of motor nearest the camshaft position sensor and timing is based of number 1 cylinder. There is not really a difference as you will see in wiring diagram, they are near bottom, and the designation for primary is because it is near the ignition timing components and the A and B designation is just a way to note which one is which.

Here is a video to help you see how to do the job.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I have a 2001, Ford F150 Supercrew 5.4L engine and I want to replace my ignition coil and boot on #5 cylinder. Where would it be located on the engine? What tools do I need and any suggestion on changing it?

Drivers side front coil. 7mm socket for bolt on coil. 5/8 spark plug socket and extention. Note new boot will come with new coil. If the plug is worn you should replace all plugs. They are no easy on the passenger side. But with a unversal on the extentions you can get the coils and plus out with alot of patience.
