WHEN AC IS ON SIGNIFICANT POWER LOSS

V-8 5.4 Everything running fine, no check engine light, etc. All systems check good on mechanics expensive computer (& he is good friend of the family) trust him immensely. When the AC is on the truck just doesn't want to accelerate, especially up-hill. You can really hit the gas hard & it will kick into overdrive but not very gas effective. There is no issues with the AC, it blows cold in all driving conditions. Any help would be great. Thanks

Has fuel pressure been checked? How old tune plugs, filters?
