While changing out thermostat housing I dropped a 8mm socket. I believe it went down front hose on lower housing. If this is the case how do I go about retrieving it? Does this hose lead to the water pump? And can it get into the engine? Will a mechanic's magnet on a stick be able to get it out?

Hi you should be able to get it out with a flex magnet. Yes it does need to come out it will cause eng probs if not removed.
