2001 Ford Ranger with 4.0 V6 stumbles or misfires on acceleration intermitantly. Have 62k on the clock.

It stumbles or surges intermitanly on acceleration. Have a rotten egg smell from exaust. Is the cat cooked? Also what could've cooked it at this low miles. It is leaking oil from passenger side valve cover. It drips onto the pre cat and burns off. Never anything on the ground. No CEL.
