3.9 V6 shuts one whole bank of cylinders off ( at least that's what the diagnostic was supposed to say) after the engine is warm and restarted again. Starts fine but after 15 seconds or so the idle gets progressively worse until it sounds like it's going to stall. Rev it up a bit and everything smooth's out and no problem until another warm restart. Cold starts are no problem at all.
During one of these episodes, if you head up the road it will only reach about 2000 rpm and sputter, almost back firing or maybe loading the exhaust with fuel which ignites a little, until you put it in neutral, rev it up a bit and then it will run all day with no problem.
Changed distributor cap, rotor cap and plugs, but almost seems worse, but runs great otherwise.
Anybody have some ideas?
have the same problem?
