Doesn't happen all the time either. Sometimes you have to turn the key over 5 or 6 times and it might hit.

My 2001 Chevy S10 wont start or turn over. Battery is fine and it almost sounds like you have left it in gear and try to turn it over. Any ideas?

Even if it doesn't have the notorious starter "click"?

Yes. That click is usually the solenoid energizing but not engaging.

Try jumping between the large cable and the small cable. If that turns the starter, you have a bad solenoid/bendix.
